  • APU Student Art Fair: Success!

My table with wares! Maybe I should have pared it down… Oops…! XD Source: Moi

Hey Everyone! Thanks for stopping by my table at the APU Student Art Fair–I enjoyed chatting with y’all about my art and appreciate your support! ๐Ÿ˜€

It was a bit chaotic at times. The stand which I so lovingly worked on kept getting knocked down by, rather ironically, the wind (of course it was gonna be breezy during set-up… of course! XD). It was supposed to be a mock-up of an inner house scenario, with a small little couch (on the table, next to the incense sticks) and towering paintings above. Alas, the house tumbled down. But! Some wonderful people helped me deal with the stand (I guess you could say they were… they were… stand-up folks)–and it worked out in the end.

Anyhoo, some cool highlights from the table:

The incense holders got a lot of attention! Curious folks wondered if they were wristbands or bookmarks. While I firmly believe that pretty much anything can act as a bookmark (I once used a container lid as a placeholder, so these would be infinitely more stylish), they’re meant to be incense holders for aromatherapy ๐Ÿ™‚ I kept telling people to “spark one up”, which was admittedly hilarious, but lighting up an incense really is a nice way to spruce up a place and relax for a bit. I used to sell these on Etsy, but closed down the shop for various reasons. I might re-open the shop there, so stay tuned!

The bags were also cool to make and fun to feature, and I’ll probably make these available online some time in the future.

    More highlights!

More incense holders, one with a demonstration of how incense sticks are placed. I would have liked to make a full demonstration but it was windy lol and I didn’t have a light (plus I wouldn’t have been able to, but still, it would’ve been cool). Source: Moi

  • Site Updates

Hey Everyone! You may have noticed some changes around the site. I’ve finally been able to update the layout now that I regained access to WordPress.

It’s a real pain in the butt to deal with these templates, tbh. To think that, at some point, I used to code websites “by hand” with HTML/CSS! Think 2005-10ish era of web design. I don’t even know what that era of webz* was called. Web 2.0? Are we in web 4.0 now? Anyhoo! After some extensive tinkering with the templates, I managed to make a functional layout! So yay for me ๐Ÿ˜€ (And for you, viewer, who gets to appreciate some of my sick visuals in a relatively nice format).

I also added some new artworks to the page. The page is under construction, so sorry for the mess. I’ll probably be adding more sections to the site at some point, so stay tuned!

[*] Short for “interwebz”, which is slang for “interweb”, which is slang for “World Wide Web” (a proper noun!), which is another name for internet.

  • Guess What!

APU Student Art Sale! Promo by APU’s Art Department.

If you’re in the Los Angeles area, you might want to check out Azusa Pacific University’s Student Art Sale on November 5th! Namely because there will be some cool art for purchase–some of it by me! ๐Ÿ˜€

I’ll be selling so many paintings, you guys. And I’m really excited about this because it’s the first time that I’ll actually sell some wares from an actual table. Craziness!

I should have more of an online presence for my artworks. I tried Etsy for a while, but then they started charging monthly, which was a bit difficult for me to keep up with a the time, so I bowed out. It was a bummer too, since I actually sold one or two incense burners through there! Also e-bay but then they started getting weird so I shut the store down altogether.

But! I’ve amassed a great deal of paintings, and some of these are ready to fledge!

I’ll also be moving soon so it’ll be great if some of these paintings found loving homes!

Feel free to reach out to info@aliaswind.com or incensed.co@gmail.com for more info! You can also add me on Instagram @roawind for more updates.

More info to follow–hope to see you there!
